This fan’s reaction to Northern Iowa’s half-court buzzer beater may be better than the shot itself.

The second day of Mach Madness this year had it all, from Michigan State losing to Middle Tennessee, and both Iowas winning at the buzzer. However, it was Northern Iowa that will be remembered much longer for Paul Jesperson’s Steph Curry-like winner from half-court to upset Texas and secure a spot in the Round of 32 against Texas A&M.

It’s a game winner that is in the pantheon of greatness, up there with the likes of R.J. Hunter and Christian Laettner. One can only imagine how the fans in the building, especially the ones who were rooting for the Panthers, reacted. Well thanks to the invention of Vine, we’ve got our wish.

The question is, if the poster was “that idiot”, who was the one recording the video? Either way, his celebration definitely lasted a lot longer than six seconds, and if it’s possible to include this video in One Shining Moment, it would be fantastic. There are few fan reactions that sum up March Madness better than this one.

Of course, because of all the upsets from the Round of 64, there are no more perfect brackets left. Then again, this season of college basketball has practically been defined by parity so it should’ve been expected even if it’s well near impossible to predict the tournament itself.
