Taking a look at the 2016 Indy 500 TV schedule for the events on Sunday

Sunday, May 29 would be a big day on the IndyCar series regardless of how many times the Indy 500 has been run before. However, it becomes even more special on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway as it will be the 100th running of the race with the 2016 Indy 500. It’s a historic moment for one of the most historic races in motor sports and really in all of sports.

With so much history being on display for the 100th running of the Indy 500, there are obviously going to be a lot of different events and ceremonies in addition to the always entertaining race. As such, being able to watch them is likely on any racing fans agenda and event those just wanting to catch the 2016 Indy 500 may want to know where they can catch all of the action throughout the morning and afternoon.

The primary coverage on Sunday for the 100th running of the Indy 500 will be on ABC and will start at 11 a.m. ET. That coverage will include things like Darius Rucker (of Hootie and the Blowfish fame) singing the national anthem, Josh Kaufman and the Indianapolis Children’s Choir singing “(Back Home Again In) Indiana,” and much more.

ABC will stay covering the race throughout the day and the green flag for the 2016 Indy 500 will drop around 12:17 ET. So if you’re not already tuned into ABC by then, that’s for sure when you’ll want to tune into the action.
