After hearing a player say they will accept whatever punishment, Les Miles is making sure his LSU players know a certain celebration won’t be tolerated.

This weekend, several top-level college football games will be taking place at neutral site locations across the country, including Les Miles and his LSU Tigers playing Wisconsin at Lambeau Field.

Home of the Green Bay Packers, the stadium is one of the oldest and most tradition-rich in football. One of those traditions includes the famed “Lambeau Leap”.

After hearing that one of his players is willing to accept whatever punishment there is for doing such a move (a 15-yard penalty in the game), LSU head coach Les Miles decided to put a stop to any plans of his Tigers acting like the play for Green Bay on a full-time basis:

"“I promise you that if anybody jumps (for) the Lambeau Leap, they’ll end up with their thumb out to see if they can get a ride home. It’s college football, and we’ll play it that way, and I think our guys understand. We’ll do it right.”"

College football is all about fun and not taking things too seriously, so it’s a little disappointing that the head Bayou Bengal is putting an end to that idea before it even has started. That being said, you can see where Les Miles is coming from as any penalty can hurt his team in a game that may not be the most important on the schedule, but will set the tone for the season.

On a side note, it would almost be comical if Wisconsin decided to have a little fun and let their own players jump up in the stands and take the penalty. LSU players would be sitting on the sideline just fuming about Miles being a Debbie Downer when it comes to one of football’s most well-known rituals of late.
