Anthony Rizzo celebrates Cubs winning the World Series on Twitter
Following everything that happened on the field, Anthony Rizzo took to Twitter to celebrate the Cubs winning the World Series.
Anthony Rizzo has become one of the faces of the Chicago Cubs, including for the 2016 team. He became a star of the team that made it to the World Series and won it all on Wednesday night. They beat the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in Game 7 to achieve their first championship since 1908.
Rizzo played a part in the Cubs’ win on Wednesday. He drove in one of the eight runs that they scored and walked once. The final out just so happened to go into his glove too, a moment the 27-year-old won’t forget.
After the celebration of the World Series got played on TV, Rizzo would take to Twitter to go wild about the win. He said, “World Series Champions!!!!!!!!!!!!!#FlyTheW“.
This is probably the reaction of every Cub player as they get to celebrate something they will never forget. Most don’t get to celebrate this more than once in their career. Some never even get the opportunity, so it’s one that Rizzo is surely soaking in right now.

The Cubs and Indians played a historic World Series. It was full of drama, especially in Game 7 with the Tribe coming back, the rain delay and the action-packed top of the 10th inning. A game like this, especially with so much on the line from two organizations that have struggled to win it all, may never be seen again. So players like Anthony Rizzo and even the fans should soak this up and enjoy it for how incredible this is.
