The college football regular season is nearly over and everybody is chasing Alabama but can Oklahoma and Wisconsin get closer to the top four?

We didn’t get a repeat of last week’s craziness but we have enough of a shake-up to make things very interesting heading into the penultimate week of the 2016 season. Louisville and West Virginia fell apart at the worst time possible and those losses made room for Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Colorado to have even the smallest hopes of reaching the College Football Playoff.

If the Group of 5 was a horse race, you could say Navy is making a hard charge down the backstretch. With Boise State, Houston and Western Michigan ahead of them, the Midshipmen have a tough road, but in just a few weeks, they could find themselves playing in a New Year’s Six Bowl. Navy will need to win the AAC Championship and hope Wyoming wins out to keep Boise State from playing in the championship game. If all of that happens, it’s possible Navy could jump Western Michigan but as long as the Broncos are undefeated then Navy will have to wait their turn.

Not many of us, myself included did not see Stanford being ranked this low at this point in  the season but that’s not a bad thing. Things on the farm were much worse for the Cardinal as they took an epic mid-season nose dive out of the FanSided rankings. Now after winning four straight games, the Cardinal now face Rice in a rare late season non-conference game. With Christian McCaffrey  playing at his peak level this late in the season, expected it to be five in a row for the Cardinal.
