LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be having a lot more fun than they were a year ago. We discuss how much has changed on the latest episode of The Step Back’s Day-to-Day NBA Podcast, hosted by Jason Mann, with guest Chris Manning, host of Locked on Cavaliers and writer for Fear The Sword.

We discuss the bad vibes that seemed to surround the Cavs before they won the championship in 2016, how the pressures on a team change once you win a championship, how much angst there will be if the Cavs do not repeat, how the Big Three (James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving) are jelling so far this season, what can be learned from a regular season in which the Cavs don’t seem to face much challenge in the East, whether there’s anything to be concerned about with the rest of the team, and how LeBron is somewhat oddly being overlooked in MVP conversation despite averaging career-high assist and rebounding numbers.

We also look at some of the Cavs’ antics this season, how James was sometimes criticized in his first go-round in Cleveland for elaborate pre-game dance routines, wonder what it might be like to be LeBron’s teammate and whether goofing around is helpful, not helpful or irrelevant toward the goal of winning a championship.
