Arizona State Sun Devils

Last week: 9-8 (2-2 Pac-12)
Last rank: N/A

We will see what Arizona State is made over the next stretch of three games. The Sun Devils will face three ranked opponents and all of which will be on the road. Welcome to life in major college basketball. Like a Colorado or Washington, Arizona State still has dreams of making a run to the tournament and winning a game on the road at an Arizona, USC or UCLA may go a very long way in settling that.

If those slim but existing hopes are to increase then they will need to tighten up on defense. In conference play, Arizona State has allowed an average of 84 points in their four contests. If you’re going to beat Arizona, USC or UCLA then you will for sure have to hold those teams down scoring wise.

Cal Golden Bears

Last week: 11-5 (2-2 Pac-12)
Last rank: N/A

Ivan Rabb is pretty damn good, now Cal will need him to be great if they want to go dancing.

Sitting at 2-2 in the conference, Cal has faced two of the three toughest teams in the league and now we will see if they can keep it up with games against Washington and Washington State. While that might not mean much to the casual fan, games like this are what the committee will remember in early march. The conference is a five to six bid league at the most right now so getting a win or two this week will push the bears ever forward in that process.
