Take a look at the top remaining National Signing Day targets for Ohio State football recruiting.

There’s less than a week left until National Signing Day and Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is getting his ducks all in a row for the final push. There are some big names left on the board for the Buckeyes and the head coach is hoping to reel them in and remain one of the top-two recruiters in the nation.

Right now, the battle between Meyer and Nick Saban for the recruiting crown is fierce. The Crimson Tide have landed the top class in college football for the past few years and Meyer is hoping to change that.

It would take some shocking commitments and National Signing Day surprises in order for Meyer to somehow leapfrog Alabama in the recruiting ranks, but he does, according to 247Sports, have the best average star rating of any class in the country for 2017.

Let’s take a look at the five guys who can be considered must-have recruits for Ohio State football by National Signing Day.

5. James Robinson, 4-star WR (Lakeland, Fla.)

The chances of Ohio State landing four-star wide receiver James Robinson are not good, I’ll be quite honest. He is likely headed to Florida, staying close to home for college ball, but the Buckeyes have been closely recruiting him.

Although Robinson’s last, and most important, official visit is to Ole Miss, it’s safe to say the Rebels are on the outside of the recruiting race, looking in. It seems to be a three or four team competition to land him. It’s likely between Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma and potentially Clemson.

While Florida is the presumed favorite, the Buckeyes did stop in to see Robinson just last week and he took an official to Columbus on Jan. 20. Getting that official visit the week after Florida could play into the Buckeyes’ favor, but don’t expect him to drastically change his mind at the last second.

However, the Buckeyes are looking to add a receiver and early playing time could be a major selling point to working in Ohio State’s favor.

Robinson is ranked the No. 114 overall prospect andNo. 14 wide receiver.
