Jonathan Drouin put the Tampa Bay Lightning on his back to score a game-winning goal in overtime against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Tampa Bay Lightning were up 2-0 entering the third period. But the Colorado Avalanche managed to tie the game with 42 seconds left. In overtime, Lightning winger Jonathan Drouin took over and scored the game-winning goal after an incredible shift.

Drouin’s shift starts inside of the Lightning’s defensive zone. Colorado attempts to cycle the puck back into the zone to Blake Comeau. But Comeau is forced out of the zone by Drouin, who steals the puck in the neutral zone. Drouin wins a battle for the loose puck in the corner of the Colorado zone. Regrouping, Drouin takes the puck all the way back inside his own blue line, before moving forward.

Drouin skates past Comeau into the Colorado zone. He goes around the net and passes to Jake Dotchin at the point. Dotchin immediately gives the puck back to Drouin, who gets passed the Avalanche player with an incredible deke. But Drouin loses the puck as he gets around the Avalanche player. Drouin is able to win the puck back from the Colorado player’s stick. Quickly, Drouin turns in front of the net and goes to his backhand. The shot beats Colorado goalie Calvin Pickard low to his glove side, giving Tampa a 3-2 overtime win. After the goal, Drouin skated to the boards, where he was met by his Lightning teammates to celebrate the goal and the win.
