Say what you want about so-called “Millennials” — that they are lazy and entitled and have a bizarre love for skinny jeans — but they are dominating the pool at the world championships in Barcelona.

18-year-old American swimmer Missy Franklin set a world record on Sunday by capturing her sixth gold medal of the championships. She tied the previous record of five yesterday. Franklin’s record-setting medal came in the 400-meter medley relay, where she swam a strong leadoff leg.

Franklin spoke about her remarkable accomplishment after the race:

"I’m not really sure where that came from but I’m really happy with that. I knew I had to get out there for my team. We had really tough competition in that race, so we were sitting there in the ready room and we said, ‘No matter what happens, we’re just going to do our best and have fun and we can’t let each other down if we do that.’ So I just went out there and it hurt really, really bad, but now we’re done and we’re all super excited. Not bad for someone born the same year Yahoo! was founded. (Man, I am ancient.)
