Fantasy Football Last-minute Sleepers for Week 3, 2013
Joique Bell-Detroit Lions
Bell could be the play of the week depending on the availability of Reggie Bush. Bush is a gametime decision, and while his owners worry about that Bell owners are hoping he gets to be feature-back for a week.
It’s a great matchup for whoever gets the carries as the Lions face the Washington Redskins in the Nation’s Capital. Washington ranks last in the NFL in rushing yards allowed and was gashed for 132 last week by the Packers normal backup, James Starks.
Whether Bush plays or not, Bell should contribute since he serves as the goal line back in most of the Lions sets. If the Lions get a big lead, they’ll try and protect Bush as much as possible which should also lead to some extrawork for Bell.
If Bush is unable to go or the Lions decide to rest him a week, Bell will be in line for a monster day. Bell is a solid flex option even if Reggie rolls, but if Bush doesn’t play I expect Bell to be a top-ten back.
