5. Danny Woodhead-RB-San Diego Chargers (13.1%)

Another PPR pickup to make right away is Danny Woodhead who continues to see plenty of time in the Chargers offense. Ryan Mathews gets most of the carries, but Woodhead got 12 touches Sunday against Tennessee finishing with 86 all-purpose yards. He has 15 catches on 17 targets the last two weeks.

Mathews hasn’t torn it up on the ground and the Chargers run-blocking doesn’t show many signs of improving. While he doesn’t play the same number of snaps, Woodhead’s pass protection and route running should help him continue to be a solid source of decent PPR action out of the backfield

The Chargers host the Cowboys this week as they look to get back to .500. after dropping an ugly game in Nashville. Dallas hasn’t given up many rushing yards but they have allowed RB’s to catch the ball out of the backfield. Last week Isaiah Pead caught all seven passes thrown to him against Dallas, Jamaal Charles caught eight of 10 passes thrown to him in week 2, and even Da’Rel Scott had five catches in the opener. If you need  sneaky flex play in PPR, Woodhead is a valuable option from the waiver wire.
