LeBron James is bringing back the chalk toss
By Corey Leahy
Fear not, LeBron James will be bringing back the chalk this season. After a two-year break from throwing up the dust in his pre-game warm ups, James has announced that he will be doing the celebration starting this season. LeBron said this regarding the celebration after the Miami Heat’s practice on Wednesday,
"It’s just me, I love my fans and they wanted it back. They wanted me to do it, so it’s back."
The last time LeBron James tossed the chalk was back in 2011 during he NBA Playoffs. Then all of a sudden, he decided to take a hiatus, and now it’s 2013. Recently, the new video game NBA 2K14 was released. For those of you that haven’t had a chance to play it yet, or haven’t seen anything about the game, James actually does the pregame practice. Having it put back into the video game was James’ way of unofficially announcing its return.
There doesn’t seem to be a reason why he stopped the chalk toss during the playoff series against Boston, and there certainly doesn’t seem to be a reason why it was retired for a little bit. Some people might not have even known he stopped doing it until now, but now they can rest assured that it ill be back the Heat’s pre-game.
