The staple of the Pittsburgh Steelers has always been top play from their defense. Unfortunately, this year it took Pittsburgh until Week 6 against a rookie quarterback to force their first turnover of the year, and the defensive ends that they invested so much in have yet to pay off.

Clowney has the talent to play in either a 40 or 30 front, so the 3-4 scheme of Dick LeBeau would not be an issue.

Clowney would add some youth and athleticism to a unit that desperately needs it and finally give the Steel Curtain a player to build around and help restore the defense to it’s glory days.
