Fantasy Football Waiver Wire 2013: Top 10 Week 11 pickups
8. Delanie Walker-TE-Tennessee Titans (12.5%)
Walker and the Titans lost to the Jaguars this week in a pretty disheartening game that also cost them Jake Locker who is out for the season with a foot injury. Walker himself actually turned in a solid effort finding the end zone on one of his four catches for 62 yards. He tied his season high by being targeted eight times and has two touchdowns in his last three games.
Going forward, the Titans have a quick turnaround as they face the Colts Thursday night as both teams will be looking to bounce back. Ryan Fitzpatrick will be under center for Tennessee, but he’s shown a solid rapport with Walker so the change at quarterback shouldn’t affect Walker too much.
Walker isn’t an elite option at this point, but he’s growing into a bigger role in the Tennessee offense which could make him very valuable in the coming weeks. This week isn’t a great matchup, but he’s been consistent throughout the season which some of the “best of the rest” options have struggled with although their upside may ultimately be higher than Walker’s. That being said, Walker is still the option I’d look for first if I needed a TE on most leagues waiver wires.
