According to Thunder beat writer Darnell Mayberry, a fan rushed to half-court during halftime of Sunday night’s Oklahoma City-Orlando tilt at Chesapeake Energy Arena in OKC.

In what was clearly unplanned (or, at least, unbeknownst to arena offficials and therefore illegal), a man by the name of John Koyck pulled his girlfriend onto the court and attempted to propose. Security pulled the couple off the court, although they apparently allowed the proposal to be completed on the sideline.

Clearly, they’ll be in some trouble with law (you know, trespassing and all). Mayberry attempted to speak with the couple after the game but was told by the police that they had “some business” to take care of before they could speak to the media.

Here’s hoping there aren’t too many folks that play copycat. At least it was at halftime, and not during play though, right?

UPDATE: Evidently, the friendly police and security folks in Oklahoma City have allowed the young lovebirds to return to their seats and enjoy the rest of the game. Huh. Didn’t see that coming.
