Johnny Manziel signs with LeBron’s associate

Johnny Manziel has confirmed that he has signed with LRMR and Maverick Carter, the friend and associate of LeBron James. The deal will see Carter handle some of the 2012 Heisman winner’s off-field work, according to a report from the AP.

The rest of Manziel’s team will comprise Erik Burkhardt acting as his agent, while Bradley Beckworth and Jeffrey Angelovich will handle his business-related matters.

LeBron James said last week that he had texted with the Texas A&M quarterback during his final season at College Station, and Beckworth told the AP that the management model that the Manziels was “most impressed by one uniquely established for the NBA’s LeBron James.”

Manziel is going to be one of the most discussed NFL prospects between now and the draft, not unlike fellow Heisman winner Tim Tebow. The difference is that Manziel is a much more polished passer than the former Gator and current ESPN college analyst. It is thought that Manziel could go anywhere from first overall to towards the end of the first round.
