One of the hottest names in NBA trade rumor circles is Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love. It’s no secret that Love is already halfway out the door in Minnesota and that has caused rumors about a possible trade to surface recently.

The logic behind trading Love is simple: if he’s going to walk next summer, why not give him what he wants right now and get something back for him rather than letting him walk for free. Teams know Love is going to walk though and he’s not certain to sign a long-term deal once dealt, making him a poor trade chip.

According to Chuck Myron, Love will likely remain with the Timberwolves until at least the trade deadline next season.

"I think Kevin Love will be one of the hottest names at next year’s deadline, but a trade this year seems unlikely. The Lakers and Knicks appear to be the teams in the lead to acquire him either via trade or through free agency in the summer of 2015, with an edge going to the L.A., where Love played college ball."

It’s pretty much accepted that Love is only a member of the Timberwolves in only the most minimal of ways, which makes news of him not being able to be traded even more frustrating for Wolves fans .
