Guess what, folks? Athletes apparently get their news on social media, just like us.

Case in point? Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings, who found out his coach Mo Cheeks was fired this morning via Twitter.

Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnorowski broke the news on the social media platform and just minutes after Wojo announced the news, Jennings replied in a very perplexed way.

A few minutes passed before Jennings tweeted again as he was likely either digesting the news or made a few calls to confirm that Cheeks was indeed firing. His response?

I’m no expert, but I don’t think that is the internet’s version of agreement.

Jennings then took some time to thank his now former coach:

Cheeks shortly got the short end of the stick during his short tenure with the Pistons, but unfortunately that’s the life of a head coach. The one person who does need to be fired is Pistons general manager Joe Dumars, but he seems to be rather bulletproof despite building a collection of terrible rosters.

Updated: Charlies Villanueva also learned of the firing via social media.
