New York. New England. Tom Brady. Bill Belichick. Darrelle Revis and his island.

These are probably words you aren’t familiar with, but don’t fret: it’s because the New England Patriots and the New York Jets are the two NFL franchises most routinely ignored by the mainstream NFL media. When it comes to narratives, this game is paradoxically a must-see because there are no narratives surrounding either of these teams.

Will this be the game that finally puts these two franchises on the national radar? I certainly hope so, although I’d hate for them to grow into overexposed entities mined bare by ESPN talking heads in need of conversational topics.
