Gone are the days of the iPhone being the only phone capable device you own.  With SMS messaging, Apple users must feel sorry for those not on iOS devices and unable to utilize iMessage.  No longer is your iPhone the only device to receive SMS messages though.  Users with multiple iOS devices will now be able to receive and send SMS messages through their iPads as well.

On top of utilizing the iPad’s messaging feature.  Apple will also allow the tablet to act as a much larger phone.  With the iPad, iPhone users will also experience caller id and the ability to answer call via their iPad.  The iPad will serve the ability to act as a much larger speaker and visible device than your phone.

The iPad will be allowed to take phone calls even if your phone is across the house charging, and therefore will have an expanded reach in mimicking the functionality of the iPhone.

Gone are the days of missing phone calls.

Also, your Mac will take on the same functionality allowing users to make phone calls from their contacts or websites directly from their Mac based computer.
