HOUSTON ROCKETS

If LeBron’s time in Miami taught us anything, it’s that he values his relationship with his teammates and wants to be with players he enjoys being around. Say what you will about Dwight Howard, but he and James would get along great. They’re both fierce competitors during the 48 minutes of game time and they’re both comedians once the final horn sounds. Not only would they form a great trio with James Harden, but they could have fun doing it.

I’ll go on record saying that the Rockets would set the NBA record for slowest games if James finds his way to Houston. They’ve already got foul magnets in Harden and Howard, with James being yet another. It’s hard enough to defend that trio, now try to defend them when you’re starting team is in foul trouble. This team could be one of the most prolific offenses in the league and guess what — they’d bring the goods defensively as well.

James is an All-Defensive team award winner every year, as is Howard. Patrick Beverley is a very good perimeter defender and Omer Asik is very good in the paint. If coach Kevin McHale can come up with a scheme to take advantage of everyone’s strengths, this team could be a top-10 defense. Don’t laugh — they were ranked No. 13 in defensive rating last season without James in the fold.
