CLEVELAND CAVALIERS

It’s not the most popular choice but it’s definitely the most intriguing to me. After the amount of vitriol that the people of Cleveland spat at LeBron after he left, you’d think they’d never want him back — you’d be dead wrong. Winning cures a lot of hurt feelings and that’s exactly what would happen if LeBron came back home. He’d pair with Kyrie Irving and potentially Andrew Wiggins to form an athletic, uptempo bunch with a lot to gain.

James’ good friend Anderson Varejao is there for another year and they’ve got a solid veteran point guard in Jarrett Jack to run the offense when needed. There’d be a couple of major roadblocks, however. The first issue would be the coaching staff. Would James be willing to start anew with new head coach David Blatt and assistant head coach Tyronn Lue? If he can get past that, there’s still a major depth issue here.

Irving has been banged up each year he’s been in the league, Dion Waiters isn’t ready for prime time just yet and the Cavs didn’t exactly form the kind of swarming defense that intimidates opponents into submission. This team has holes and unless they got some veteran bigs to join, they’d be vulnerable. It would be a great story, but it’s probably the most unlikely of these scenarios.
