PHOENIX SUNS

I’ll admit that this pick is partially me being a homer and partially a very logical place for LeBron to be. Phoenix offers LeBron the chance to do something special, as the Suns have yet to bring a championship to the city. They’ve got a very good young nucleus already, with Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic and Gerald Green providing highlights that rival any others in the league. It’s not just flash, either — don’t forget that this team won 48 games last year.

James is close with Bledsoe and could create havoc defensively playing together. The Suns would love to re-sign P.J. Tucker to put together a tremenous defensive trio but even if they can’t find a way to make that happen, wherever James goes, veterans will follow. Having a coach like Jeff Hornacek, who has a calm and respectful disposition, will also be a major plus for James. How often did you see Erik Spoelsta publicly lay into LeBron? Yeah, exactly.

In addition, the Suns have a cache of picks that they could use to fill very specific needs or go after another big name. As of now, the Suns have roughly $25.6 million in guaranteed salaries on the books. They’ll have to get Bledsoe’s contract in order (he’s a restricted free agent) and could go after James AND a guy like Kevin Love. Could be bright days ahead in Phoenix if they pull it off.
