Joel Embiid asks LeBron James to join him with Philadelphia 76ers
By Jack Crosby
As of midnight on Tuesday, LeBron James is officially a free agent. Of course, it goes without saying that a lot of teams will be hot on his trail, and we’ve already heard of a slew of teams that would love to acquire the services of the best player on the planet, and those team’s current stars will be helping in the recruiting process.

However, one of the teams that has not been in the race to land LeBron is the Philadelphia 76ers, but that didn’t stop their newest member, first-round draft pick Joel Embiid, from making a recruiting pitch anyway.
Tuesday afternoon, the no. 3 overall pick in last week’s NBA Draft fired up his twitter account and politely asked James if he would consider coming to the City of Brotherly Love to help in the rebuilding effort.
Hey, he even said “peace!”
Most teams are going to try and lure LeBron to their city with promises of riches and potential championships, while Embiid just took the simple route of asking in general.
Of course, James would never consider heading off to Philadelphia, but you do have to applaud Embiid’s efforts to gauge whether or not LeBron would be interested in helping his team out with their five-year rebuilding plan they apparently have going on at the moment.
