NBA free agency is wide open now as July 1st has arrived and teams are going to begin meeting with players they plan on pitching this summer. One of the best players on the market is the best player on the planet — LeBron James — and there’s a short list of teams who plan on taking a run at him this offseason.

But while there are etams who want LeBron James, they may not end up getting a chance to pitch him they way they want to as his sights may be too set on seeing what the Miami Heat do to take too many other teams seriously. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the teams that are hoping to pursue LeBron James are unsure if they’ll even get a fair chance to pitch him before he decides to re-sign with the Heat.

"Within the suitors for James, there’s an increased pessimism they’ll never get a serious chance to engage James in free-agent meetings and presentations, sources told Yahoo Sports."

This doesn’t mean that LeBron will be actively blowing off free agent meetings but you can’t blame him for being preoccupied with seeing where the Miami Heat go this offseason. The whole reason he opted out, at least in theory, was to put pressure on the Miami Heat to improve their roster and that’s what he’s going to watch and see.

He may end up taking meetings, but the best place for him remains Miami and that means that all other teams will be second thoughts for the time being.
