3. Kevin Minter

Minter from LSU was drafted by the Cardinals in the 2nd round of the 2013 Draft and hasn’t seen much playing time up to this point. But, that creates an ideal situation for the 2nd year LB to now enter into the spotlight considering the knowledge he gained in one season from his coaching staff and his teammates Dansby and Washington.

Poetically, Minter will now be looked at to step into the void left at ILB by Dansby’s exit and Washington’s suspension. He will be expected to grow quickly over the next 6 weeks into a leader, which is a requirement for the ILB role in relaying defensive plays and audibles to the team.

It requires that he gains the respect and attention of his defensive teammates. Minter showed in his time at LSU his abilities to be a leader and a consistent defensive performer while improving upon his weaknesses and growing as a player.  He has what it takes to step into this role for the Cardinals, and we’ll see how he progresses throughout the season.
