10) Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers

Freshly armed with a new, lucrative contract, the pressure cooker is turned up on Colin Kaepernick. The young quarterback has been extremely successful in the win column for the Niners since being installed to replace Alex Smith midway through the 2012 season, but there are still some warts to go along with the dynamic, explosive play.

First, the 26-year-old finished 31st (not a misprint) among qualified QB’s in completion percentage last season, and while that is far from the be all and end all in the league, it certainly isn’t a good thing. Fortunately, he was able to post the 7th-best QBR (courtesy of ESPN) for the season, and the combination of his impressive legs with a rocket arm makes him impossible to defend when the San Francisco offense is cooking on all cylinders.

Frankly, Kaepernick is still extremely raw, but with yet another full off-season as “the guy” with the 49ers under his belt, it will be interesting to see if he is overrated, properly rated or even underrated in a couple of months.
