Von Miller, Denver Broncos linebacker

To say 2013 was unkind to Miller would be an understatement. Between a six-game suspension to start the season, and a torn ACL in December that ended it, he just couldn’t catch a break. It was that much more disappointing considering he was coming off an 18.5 sack season, having established himself among the NFL’s best pass-rushers.

Miller is said to be modeling his rehab after Adrian Peterson, who defied modern medicine by rebounding from an ACL tear in an extremely short timespan. Miller’s plan seemed to work, as he went full speed in minicamp and avoided opening training camp on the dreaded Physically Unable to Perform list.

With the arrival of DeMarcus Ware in Denver, Miller could face less double-teams in 2014, allowing him the opportunity to return to his havoc-wreaking ways. Miller recently boasted that he sees himself heading toward the Hall of Fame. The first step in that direction would be capturing the CPOY award, which he is more than capable of — provided his health complies, of course.
