Oakland Raiders – Matt Schaub vs. Derek Carr

On the opposite side of the field from Minnesota, the Raiders had a quarterback battle of their own going on.

In the first showing for veteran Matt Schaub and second round pick Derek Carr, neither did anything to particularly stand out.

Schaub almost threw an interception on his first pass and completed only 3-of-7 passes for 21 yards. He was hurt by a couple of drops by his receivers and an untimely penalty. It was still not an inspiring performance.

Carr one-upped Schaub by actually throwing an interception! The Fresno State product was 10-of-16 for 74 yards. There is still a lot to be figured out in Oakland.
