NFL: 5 players that should be traded before season
Rob Housler, Arizona Cardinals tight end
It’s been a spectacular fall from grace for Housler, who’s gone from starting in the desert to being left out to dry. A report last month claimed Housler had fallen to No. 4 on the depth chart. He’s since climbed due to the retirement of Jake Ballard, but that’s hardly a positive.
It’s been said that Housler is simply not the type of tight end preferred by Cardinals coach Bruce Arians. In spite of that, Housler ran with the starters during the team’s preseason opener, recording a 38-yard catch-and-run.
Only 26-years-old with tons of athleticism, Housler needs a change of scenery in the worst way. Considering how tight ends are coveted these days, it shouldn’t be a surprise if it happened. For his sake, let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later.
