Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks

When: Thursday, Sept. 4
Time: 8:30 pm
TV Broadcast: NBC

You can start off your NFL viewing with a real dandy on Thursday night.

This game has several intriguing angles, one of which is Seattle playing their first game as defending Super Bowl champions. Everyone will have the laser sights pointed right at the Seahawks this year, and the Packers would love to be the first team to knock them off their perch since winning Super Bowl XLVIII.

The reason Green Bay want to be that team? Two words.

Fail Mary.

In 2012, the last time Green Bay came to visit the Seahawks, one of the most improbable and unbelievable plays happened, when Seattle QB Russell Wilson threw a desperation pass to the back of the end zone for receiver Golden Tate. The controversy brewed when the replacement officials (because the regular referees were locked out) completely missed a blatant offensive pass interference call against Tate, and then ruled the “catch” a simultaneous possession, giving the Seahawks a 14-12 win in the game.

This one has revenge game written all over it.
