The back-and-forth between the Phoenix Suns and Eric Bledsoe has become rather quiet after rumors broke suggesting sign-and-trade scenarios were being discussed.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Was that nothing more than a threat on the Phoenix Suns part? Or were they finally growing tired of Eric Bledsoe’s contractual demands and looking to make a move? That’s a question without an answer currently, though Eric Bledsoe doesn’t appear opposed to a sign-and-trade deal.

In fact, according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports the former Kentucky product would like to team up with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Responding to a fan question, Amico stated that he believes Eric Bledsoe will sign a one-year deal with the Suns (presumably the one-year qualifying offer) though would like to play with James if possible.

"Phoenix. One a one-year deal. Just my prediction. I can tell you he, like many others, wants to play with LeBron. Not sure I ever see that happening, though. At least not for Bledsoe."

While Eric Bledsoe is a very talented player, the Cleveland Cavaliers already have a solid shooting guard in Dion Waiters. More than that, Waiters is on a much cheaper contract than Eric Bledsoe who is seeking an albatross of a contract from the Phoenix Suns.

Given that a sign-and-trade scenario involving the Suns and Cavaliers seems nearly impossible, so the lone way Bledsoe would be able to join the Cavaliers would be to sign his qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent at season end.

Of course, he’d have to sign for the mid-level exception in that case which obviously would not happen. Thus, while Eric Bledsoe may want to play with LeBron James, doing so is a completely different story.
