Keys to Victory
The Giants need to get the Lions’ offense off the field and, more important, keep their own offense on the field. Manning struggled in preseason and if he finds a passing rhythm, then the Giants could stay in this game. He’ll need some help from receivers Victor Cruz and Reuben Randle. It will also be Rashad Jennings’ Giants debut. He can alleviate the pressure from Manning.
The Lions offense should have no trouble clicking. They can pick up where they left off from last year — and offseason addition Golden Tate will provided an extra boost. But if there was any defense that Manning could pick apart, it’s the Lions’. Their secondary was disappointing last season and little was done in the offseason to improve it. They Lions can probably win this game in a scoring contest. The Lions’ defensive linemen Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley must help their secondary with pressure.

Prediction
Both teams have big questions on one side of the ball. The Lions’ defense and the Giants’ offense are both unreliable. However, the Lions offense is going to establish itself as elite, and it will be too much for the Giants. Matthew Stafford is going to shine is his season opener and light up the scoreboard.
Final Score: Lions: 35, Giant: 24
