Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks

What a great matchup to start the season. The defending champs against a former champ trying to get back to the top of the NFL. The “Legion of Boom” and Seattle’s dominant defense against Aaron Rodgers and the high-powered Green Bay offense. While I think Green Bay is a legit Super Bowl contender, going to Seattle for the first week of the season is a tough task. Not only will they have the challenge of facing that defense in front of one of the loudest home crowds in the world in prime time, but Seattle’s offense lead by Russell Wilson has looked fantastic this preseason. While I think Rodgers and the Packers will give them a fight, the champs will defend their home turf in this one.

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons While I truly believe the Falcons will be a better team than they were last season, their division rival New Orleans Saints are not a favorable match up. The Falcons tried hard to rebuild an abysmal offensive line this offseason, but with the loss of Sam Baker to injury forcing rookie Jake Matthews over to the starting left tackle spot questions remain. Rob Ryan’s attacking defense is lead by a very good front seven and the addition of Jarius Byrd will make it even more dangerous for QBs to force throws into the secondary when they are being pressured. The Falcons have enough fire power to keep it close, but I think the match ups here favor Drew Brees and the Saints.
