Kelvin Benjamin-WR-Carolina Panthers (39.3%)

The top name widely available this week was one of my favorite sleepers heading into the season.  Benjamin looks like he’s ready to jump right in and take over as the Panthers go-to target.  Carolina got a big divisional win on the road in Tampa on Sunday even though Cam Newton didn’t play due to a rib injury.  Even with Newton sidelined, Benjamin still looked great catching passes from Derek Anderson.

Anderson targeted Benjamin eight times and the rookie hauled in six catches for 92 yards and a key touchdown.  Benjamin is a huge red zone target and has shown great hands and the ability to go up and make plays.  Whether Newton or Anderson is under center, expect Benjamin to continue to get plenty of passes thrown his way especially in and around the end zone.

Benjamin is a WR2/3 with upside going forward since Carolina doesn’t have a ton of other receiving options. Next week, Benjamin and the Panthers host the Lions in what should be a high-scoring game.  The Lions secondary has struggled allowing big plays so expect another good week from Benjamin.  He’s a great low-risk, high-reward pickup if you need a WR going forward.
