2. Eddie Lacy Had One Bad Game

Quite a few fans were disappointed with the performance that running back Eddie Lacy left on the field, but people have to remember that he was facing the NFL’s best defense. He had an outstanding rookie season, and it gave him extremely high expectations for this year. Lacy had one bad game, and that is exactly how it needs to be viewed.

The Packers gave Lacy the football 12 times against Seattle, and he ended up gaining just 34 yards. Obviously that type of letdown after all of the high expectations would cause things to be blown out of proportion, and that is exactly what happened. While Lacy is going to have a big season, he is still in his second year. There will be many ups and downs for him, and he will have to learn more through the downs.

Don’t expect to see many more games like the one that he played in Week 1. He’s going to figure things out and get his season back on track against the Jets, and the Packers are going to make a much more concerted effort to get him going early. When Lacy is on his game, Rodgers is a much better and more effective quarterback. The Packers’ offense is going to look better in Week 2, you can count on that.
