Los Angeles Lakers not concerned with Kobe Bryant’s return
By Bryan Rose
When Kobe Bryant takes the court for the Los Angeles Lakers this season, it’s oddly going to feel somewhat like unfamiliar territory given the amount of time he’s missed.

Understandably, given his age and mounting injuries, there is wide concern regarding just how well Bryant will play but it doesn’t appear as if the Los Angeles Lakers are worrying very much. At least not co-owner Jeanie Buss who says she’s spoken with Phil Jackson and is excited, not concerned about Kobe Bryant’s return.
“Phil (Jackson) told me when Kobe got hurt, he said ‘Jeanie it’s gonna take a year, but he will come back.’ And I know Kobe. He put a lot of pressure on himself to help the team out last season […] He came back after six months, but now I know he’s healed, and he’s ready to play, so I’m really not worried about him coming back and contributing.”
While it’s a nice thought, the Los Angeles Lakers are all but doomed without a completely healthy Kobe Bryant on their roster. Given that, it’s hard to believe that Jeanie Buss isn’t at least somewhat worried about how Kobe Bryant will perform this season.
That said, she has been around Bryant since he was a teenager and she’s seen just how dedicated he is to his craft. Given that, she probably has enough trust in Kobe to know he’s going to do everything he can to be the player he once was.
