It’s been quite a week for (now former) New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter who today played his final game as professional.

Fittingly Jeter and his New York Yankees finished up their season against the Boston Red Sox who gave Derek Jeter quite the send off. Not only did Boston hold a very impressive ceremony for Jeter but those in the stands give the legend an extremely long standing ovation on more than one occasion.
One would have thought all the love would have been a bit overwhelming for Derek Jeter but he still found time to pose for a selfie with Boston Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly.
Before the festivities kicked off, Kelly made his way to the iconic shortstop, pulled out his phone and took a picture with Jeter. To make the moment even better, Joe Kelly’s wife posted about the photograph on Twitter and said had planned to marry Derek Jeter when she was a little girl. In the end, she married the guy who took a selfie with Derek Jeter.
Epic tweet, no doubt.
Certainly going to be weird to see a new shortstop in the Bronx next season though at least Joe Kelly will have this special memory for the rest of his life.
