Although Pau Gasol was essentially a forgotten man as the Los Angeles Lakers began their decline, the native Spaniard decided to sign with the Chicago Bulls this past offseason in hopes of rejuvenating his career.

Gasol received interest from the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs though felt teaming up with Joakim Noah, Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson and more was the correct move. That may prove to be a wonderful decision on the part of both Pau Gasol and the Chicago Bulls as Sam Smith feels it’s possible the veteran could return to form this season.
"But he showed in the World Cup games an offensive fluidity and defensive prowess with shot blocking. He was considered the league’s most skilled big man two years ago and could return to that level. He could be the most versatile big man in the Eastern Conference this season."
Not only will Pau Gasol now be surrounded with elite level talent at nearly every position but he also joins a roster and coaching staff that is built around his game, much like an ability to pass out of the post. That seemed to be something Pau Gasol considered when he signed with the Chicago Bulls and it’s very possible that Gasol’s signing could prove to be one of the best in the NBA.
