While Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen may have shaved off his beard and LeBron James’ hair might have washed off in the shower again, it appears Martell Webster’s hair will be the talk of NBA training camp.

The Washington Wizards forward appeared at media day looking notability different on Monday morning, mostly due to his rather insane mohawk.

Apparently Webster and teammate Marcin Gortat decided to have a bit of a competition and wanted to see who would have the better mohawk between the two. Intially you have to think Marcin Gortat probably thought he had a good chance to come out victorious as his mohawk is pretty solid. However, when Martell Webster showed up at Washington Wizards media day, the winner was clear.

My only hope is that Martell Webster doesn’t get shy and decides to rid himself of the haircut before the season tips off. It would be pretty amusing to see him running down the court with his hair blowing through the arena air conditioning.

On the flip side, Marcin Gortat deserves some props as well. Unlike Webster he decided to go with a mohawk and beard though he should have left his hair a bit longer.
