Brian Quick-WR-St. Louis Rams (14.6%)

Despite a big week 3, Quick’s ownership went down last week due to his bye week.  Players coming off bye’s often make great stealth pickups since many owners only focus on what happened the previous week.  Quick comes off his bye with a possible QB change if Shaun Hill is healthy enough to take back over for backup Austin Davis who has had mixed results in his two starts. Either way, Quick is the clear #1 option in the passing game and a solid play as a flex or WR3 in most weeks.  Hill is likely to return as starter which should only benefit the offense as a whole and specifically Quick on the outside.

In his three games before the bye, Quick led the Rams in catches, targets, first-down catches, 20+ yard catches, and total receiving yards.  He hasn’t had a game over 100 yards yet, but hasn’t been held under 60 either.  The famous “third year receiver leap” can get a bit overplayed, but Quick looks like he’s possibly ready to make that jump into fantasy relevancy. He is sure to get plenty of looks in the St. Louis offense which will often be playing from behind often this season and throwing plenty.

He comes back to a very favorable matchup as well. This week he and the Rams travel to Philadelphia where they’ll take on the up-tempo Eagles in a game that they’ll need to put up points.  Quick is the top receiving threat on most waiver wires and has low risk based on the volume of passes that come his way as a regular part of the Rams attack.
