Just prior to the start of the 2013-2014, they gave big man Derrick Favors a contract extension. Then, in the 2014 offseason, they matched the  giant offer sheet the Charlotte Hornets signed swingman Gordon Hayward to. With other talented young players like center Enes Kanter, guard Alec Burks and Trey Burke and their first round pick, Dante Exum, the future is bright. Two of those players, Enes Kanter and Alec Burks, could be in for contract extensions.

According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, Enes Kanter could get a deal before that deadline.

"This isn’t a case of offering major money, rather a case of locking in a player the Jazz like and continue to see promise in. This one will come down to years and dollars, and if Marcus Morris’ deal is the barometer, something in the $25-$30 million over four or five years seems like the price point Utah would do a deal on.Kanter’s camp has to weigh the option of testing free agency in July, or locking in Kanter’s future today. If Kanter comes at a discount, he could get a deal before the deadline."

Enes Kanter is coming off a solid season, his best as a pro. At just 22 years old, there is plenty of room  for Enes Kanter grow and if the Jazz can get him on the type of deal Kyler is talking about, it could really pay off in the long run.

Enes Kanter averaged 12.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last season while shooting 49.1% from the floor and 73.0% from the free throw line last season. In his three-year career, the third-overall pick of the 2011 draft has gone for 8.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50.5% from the floor and 73.2% from the foul line.
