Indiana Pacers sign coach Frank Vogel to contract extension
By Bryan Rose
Although it’s been a rough offseason for the Indiana Pacers as they lost both Lance Stephenson (free agency) and Paul George (injury), there is finally some good news as the team signed head coach Frank Vogel to a contract extension on Wednesday morning.

Rumors of a new contract had been whispered for quite some time though nothing concrete had been announced.
That changed today however as Candace Buckner of the Indianapolis Star broke the news of Vogel’s new deal with the Pacers, though terms of the deal have yet to be announced.
Frank Vogel has been the Indiana Pacers for the past four seasons and has amassed a very impressive 167 and 100 record during that span. Clearly one of the premier head coaches in the NBA, had the Indiana Pacers allowed Vogel’s contract to expire he likely would have become the best available coach on the market.
Vogel’s best season as a head coach came last year during the 2013-14 campaign as he lead the Indiana Pacers to 56-26 record though will have a challenge on his hands as the team deals with the loss of Paul George.
It’s unlikely the Indiana Pacers will compete for the Eastern Conference crowd as they did last year, though a playoff spot isn’t out of the question.
