The Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t enter the summer expecting to have the number one overall pick on their roster.
However, after the Timberwolves dealt star power forward Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers, that’s exactly what happened. In fact, they have the last two top-overall picks in Andrew Wiggins (2014) and Anthony Bennett (2013).
There has been a lot of hype around Andrew Wiggins for some time. So much so that being a star for one of the best teams in the country, the Kansas Jayhawks, last season, was a huge disappointment for many.
Although there is no doubt Andrew Wiggins is raw, his talent and athleticism have many scouts drooling.
This week, Andrew Wiggins has finally got a chance to show what he can do in the NBA. In a 116-110 win over the Philadelphia 76ers Friday night, he scored 11 points on five-of-10 shooting, three rebounds, two steals, one assists and one powerful dunk.
After a 76ers’ miss, Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio got the ball and threw an alley-oop to Andrew Wiggins. He caught the ball and threw down a vicious dunk.
