Shonn Greene likely out for Tennessee Titans in week 6
By Hayden Kane
Shonn Greene will likely be unavailable for the Tennessee Titans as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in an AFC South battle in week 6.
The Tennessee Titans have a lot of questions on the offensive side of the football, and let’s just say that their choices to answer those questions aren’t exactly appealing.

One thing the Titans have to figure out is where they are going to get a consistent running attack. If that comes at all, will the source be veteran back Shonn Greene? Or could it be rookie Bishop Sankey? It’s still not clear, and until head coach Ken Whisenhunt shows a commitment to the run, it might not be clear for a while yet (if you don’t run up by three scores against the Browns, when is it going to happen?).
If the Titans do get their rushing attack going against the Jaguars, a distinct possibility, the bulk of the workload will fall to Sankey. That’s because Greene is likely to miss this game with a hamstring injury.
So far this season, Greene has rushed for 190 yards on 44 carries. That’s good for 4.3 yards per attempt, which is approximately three more yards per attempt than it feels like it should be. As for Sankey, he has rushed for 150 yards on 32 attempts, good for 4.7 yards per attempt.
Many people have been waiting for Sankey to get a good-faith effort at the full-time gig in Tennessee, and it looks like he will get it on Sunday in a nice match-up against the lowly Jaguars.
