Pat Angerer Announces Retirement Via Twitter

Former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Pat Angerer took to Twitter Tuesday morning to announce his retirement from the NFL.
On Tuesday morning, former Colts linebacker Pat Angerer decided that Twitter would be the place to announce his retirement from the NFL after just four seasons with the team.

Angerer played his college ball at Iowa and was selected 63rd overall by the Colts in the 2010 NFL Draft. The versatile linebacker spent four years with the Colts. Number 51 started led his team in tackles with 148 in 2011.
“It wouldn’t be fair to the game, the team, my family and my name to continue along this past any longer. ” said Angerer on Twitter. “It’s time to get healthy.”
His final two seasons with the Colts were hampered by injuries and was replaced by Kelvin Sheppard in the second half of the 2013 season. Angerer underwent micro-fracture knee surgery last December.
He tried to make a comeback this season with the Falcons, but was cut before the regular season.
