8) AFC South

A 2-2 weekend is a positive for the AFC South (even when it is guaranteed by the schedule), but they still haven’t managed to emerge from the basement of the rankings. The Jacksonville Jaguars are in a dead heat for the title of “worst team in the NFL” (with the Oakland Raiders and, arguably, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and the Tennessee Titans needed to give everything they had to top the Jags by 2 points in their home building on Sunday. Yikes.

At the top, the Indianapolis Colts are rolling right now as the winners of four consecutive games, and it is hard to find a player who is operating the quarterback position at a higher level than Andrew Luck. Still, Indy’s latest victory over Houston doesn’t do anything to raise the profile of the AFC South as a whole, and they will remain here until there is a significant shake-up.
