New York Jets at New England Patriots

Thursday Night Football hasn’t exactly been producing very good football games this season. Last Thursday’s actually ended up being a game, but this week it certainly looks like we could be in for another mismatch. Traditionally, the Jets have played the Patriots close, but this Jets team looks more like a team about to give up on it’s coach than it does a team ready to rally and rebound. The whispers of Tom Brady being “washed up” a few weeks ago (I’m guilty of this) appear to have fueled a resurgence and the Pats have looked better the last couple of weeks. Bottom line, when it’s Geno vs Brady, I’m going to have to pick Brady.

Atlanta Falcons at Baltimore Ravens

A few weeks ago I wouldn’t have been sure who to pick in this game but these teams appear to be trending in opposite directions. The Ravens are looking more and more like a threat to the Bengals in the AFC North and the Falcons are looking more and more like the team that fell apart last season. While Atlanta’s offense gets more attention, Baltimore is actually averaging the exact same points per game. On the other side of the ball the Falcons are ranked 29th against the pass and 28th against the run. While Baltimore is ranked an equally bad 27th against the pass they are much better against the run, ranking 7th best in the NFL. Look for the Ravens to get Justin Forsett the ball to control the time of possession and eventually wear the Falcons down.
