Team W L Pct. Dif GB Odds
San Diego Chargers 5 1 .833 73 76.7%
Denver Broncos 4 1 .800 43 .5 89.0%
Kansas City Chiefs 2 3 .400 18 2.5 9.8%
Oakland Raiders 0 5 .000 -55 4.5 0%

This is clearly a two-horse race for the division title, with the loser likely claiming one of the wild-card slots. It’s hard to argue with the computer here, given how the division has looked through the first six weeks of the season.

It is a bit confusing that Denver’s playoff odds are over 12 percent better than San Diego’s. The Chargers were able to beat up on a very good Seattle team, while Denver lost to the Seahawks and looked fairly poor in the process.

I suspect the difference here is likely caused by strength of schedule. Denver has wins over Kansas City, Arizona and Indianapolis. Seattle is the only decent team that the Chargers have beaten. The only other game against a good team that San Diego has played was their Week 1 loss to the Cardinals.
